Following Lance Armstrong’s eagerly expected “doping” disclosure last week, plans are being cemented for a film documenting his meteoric rise and subsequent fall from grace. According to Deadline, Paramount Pictures and JJ Abrams‘ Bad Robot production company just secured the film rights to this amazing ride. Adding to the buzz, are rumours of both Matt Damon and Bradley Cooper expressing string interest in the lead role.
There shouldn’t be much difficulty in generating intrigue and dramatic twists and turns. The adage “Truth is stranger than fiction” is sure to reign supreme for this coming screenplay. The pace at which these revelations are coming will undoubtedly be closely followed as there are some who believe that there are more insights and/or retractions to come. According to Armstrong, his “doping” rituals ended in 2005 with seven Tour De France titles, prior to his 2009 and 2010 tour appearances, where he finished 3rd and 23rd respectively.
